These shelves are completely floating, with no bracket visible. There are steel rods on the bracket that’ is included that the shelf slides onto. The shelf is made of hemlock wood and sealed in a satin finish. Brackets are made of steel and can hold different weights depending on size (see below)

Shelves 10 - 30 Inch = 2 Rods (can hold up to 100 lbs distributed evenly)
Shelves 34 - 46 Inch = 3 Rods (can hold up to 150 lbs distributed evenly)
Shelves 50 - 58 Inch = 4 Rods (can hold up to 200 lbs distributed evenly)
Shelves 70 - 80 Inch = 5 Rods (can hold up to 250 lbs distributed evenly)
